Ultrasound-guided injections

The needle is watched onto the target on screen, so the treatment reaches the structure causing the pain - usually in the same appointment as the diagnosis.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP)

Prepared from your own blood. Suitability is assessed carefully - responses vary.

Corticosteroid injections

A well-established option for inflammatory joint and soft-tissue pain, discussed in consultation.

Hyaluronic acid injections

Ostenil, Durolane and Sinovial / Sinogel - joint lubricant injections often considered for osteoarthritis of the knee and other joints.

Arthrosamid

A single-injection hydrogel treatment for knee osteoarthritis, given under ultrasound guidance. Suitability is assessed at consultation.

Prolotherapy

An injection-based option for some persistent ligament and tendon problems. The evidence is still developing, so suitability is discussed carefully.

Shockwave therapy

A non-injection option for stubborn tendon problems such as plantar fasciitis and tendinopathy, usually given as a short course.
